Ono Island HouseThe September Gulf Coast Blogger’s meeting was held at the beautiful home of Jenna from the blog, The Painted Apron on lovely Ono Island. Jenna uses her amazing culinary skills to create a daily blog full of tantalizing, quick and easy recipes. She often uses her artistic skills to customize her table settings to match each holiday and recipe.

Ono Island, Fairhope Supply Co. You can imagine our delight when Jenna offered to cook for us. Yippee!

Gulf Coast Bloggers, Fairhope Supply Co. That’s Jenna in the background. I didn’t even get a good photo of her because we were all so busy having fun and soaking in the beautiful day. Her arrangement of summer items, camera equipment and beach items fit the beachy-blogger theme perfectly.

Ono Island lunch, Fairhope Supply Co. The camera shaped cheese wafers were tasty, as were the other things on the menu. I lifted this straight from The Painted Apron:

It was all absolutely delicious and the day couldn’t have been more beautiful. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the gorgeous view. Ono Island is located close to the Florida state line in the south end of Baldwin County. It is a private island with about 900 private homes.

Beverage station, Fairhope Supply Co. All of the menu items can be found on Jenna’s blog. This is part of her drink bar where she served flavored teas and water.

Judy Oxford, Fairhope Supply Co. A special treat was hearing from our speaker, Judy Oxford, who is a wonderful volunteer with the Coastal Arts Center in Orange Beach. The center is similar to Fairhope’s Eastern Shore Art Center and offers classes to the surrounding community. Currently undergoing a major building expansion, the center is still operating classes in temporary locations and will offer their popular Scarecrow Festival on October 17th from 3-6. 1. How fun! I’ve enjoyed Jenna’s blog for some time (probably found out about her through YOUR blog!), and appreciate her artistic talents. Thanks for sharing your lovely time together.

    1. So glad you already know about Jenna. I had seen all of her mouth watering photos, but it was the first time I got to taste them for myself, and I can say they were even better than they look!

  2. I was one of the lucky bloggers who attended the meeting at Jenna’s place. I will always remember her gracious hospitality and her fabulous artwork…and that spread of tasty food. I’m so happy to see that she’s shared the recipes!

  3. Thanks for the kind words Leslie Anne, it was my pleasure to open my home to the Gulf Coast Bloggers! I am really excited about the new Coastal Arts Center and was so glad we all learned more about it and can spread the word~

    1. The Coastal Arts Center really has some big days ahead with their new building on the way. I’m so impressed that they are keeping a full schedule even throughout the construction phase! What a great group of volunteers they have.

And again, thank you for your wonderful hospitality. We were definitely spoiled!

  4. How wonderful!! What a beautiful home and looked like a great meeting. I would love to come to a meeting some time and meet some fellow Alabama bloggers. I’m not too far from the Gulf Coast. Thanks for sharing!
