All the details and a sparkly goat

Finally, the weekend before Thanksgiving, and its just now cool enough to feel like fall. I was able to wear my boots to the Lighting of the Trees last night without feeling weird.  Actually, Bob and I avoided the (pushing) masses of the tree lighting and instead attended the very exclusive lighting of the goat at Lyons Share Gallery. An elite crowd cheered wildly as the goat took on a spectacular holiday glow.

Saturday morning, I’ll be at St. Frances fall festival, so I hope to see all you local folks there.

I didn’t have time to edit this photo, but Cliff McCollum, the editor from the Gulf Coast Newspapers caught up with me after I was on WABF 1480AM and did a quick interview. Cliff’s the one who helped me get my start in newspapers.

I’ll skip down the street after church this Sunday and sign books at Page and Palette at around 12 noon, for the Annual Christmas Open House. Such a fun tradition on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, there’s lots of food, music and fun in all the stores, so come by and say hello! I’ll be signing with my friend from AL.com, J.D. Crow. Double the fun with both of us!

I did two book signings this past week and they were wonderful. People are so supportive and nice, and nowadays, it’s refreshing to see people smiling and happy. The photo above is the stunning view from  the house where I spoke to the Montrose Historic Preservation Society. The other nice group was the Book Chat club from Fairhope Friends who meet at the Yacht Club (another lovely view of Mobile Bay there too!). Thank you to everyone I got to meet and thanks for the kind words. (oh yeah, and thanks for buying lots of books too!). I’m getting such sweet feedback from readers who say they are tearing up at some of the stories, and on others, laughing out loud, calling their spouse into the room to read passages aloud to them.

Next week is Thanksgiving, and the next day, Friday, Nov. 24th, I’ll be at Fox Tale Book Shoppe in Woodstock, GA. The next day, on Small Business Saturday, I’ll be at The Book Exchange in Marietta, GA from 2-4pm. If you are in Georgia, please come out and meet me. I’d love to get to know my readers! And if you know someone in these areas, please let them know they are invited!

I first and foremost support the local bookstores, but I’ve heard from readers as far away as California who just want to use Amazon, so now, it’s ready! Even if you aren’t buying a book, but have read my stories here or in the newspaper, I ask you to please take a moment, and click HERE and scroll down until you see  you see “Customer Reviews.” I’m learning the ropes of book selling, and supposedly, this review system is very important for rankings. Thank you for taking time to do this.

You can also click on the book icon at the top of the right-hand sidebar and it will take you to the Amazon listing.

Hope you have a fun weekend in this nice cool weather! And thank you for your kind and lovely support!

I am so excited. I have dying to get my hands on the book. I usually make a December trip to Fairhope, but things have been getting in the way of Lindsay and I making it over there. I just ordered it from Amazon. Yea…

Amazon! Good for you!! When will you be in Bham? I can’t wait to get mine! I like the idea of a small private goat lighting after the tree ceremony last year!

Your guess is as good as mine as far as Birmingham goes. I’m working like mad on it, and will definitely let everyone know when I have something firm. My Birmingham readers are so loyal and supportive, I want it to be as soon as possible and as fun as possible!
