Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival
This is the weekend we wait for all year long! It’s time for the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival . . .but did you know that this event is actually two separate art shows?
The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce hosts the 63rd Annual Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival with 230 participating artists and the Eastern Shore Art Center joins in with their 43rd Annual Outdoor Art Show which features 140 artists.
Together, they make for one HUGE event, which last year, drew 250,000 people to town! (We only have around 19,000 residents in Fairhope).
It’s the very best week of the entire year because the weather is usually always gorgeous, and the crowds are so friendly. Artists from across the country are carefully selected to represent the best in their fields and have been streaming into town the past few days with their trailers loaded with creative work.
Here are a few things to remember for this year’s Arts and Crafts Festival:
*The hours have been extended on Friday and Saturday, 10am-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm.
*There will be an extra parking/shuttle area located at Volanta Park (Hwy 98) and the other locations are still available in the parking lots of Piggly Wiggly, Big Lots and whatever that other place is that used to be Food World. Rides on the BRATS (Baldwin County Rapid Transit System) shuttle are $2 each way and worth every penny for not having to try to find parking on your own.
*The free bicycle valet parking will be located behind the Fairhope Museum of History, so help cut down on traffic and ride those bikes!
And don’t forget to visit all the local stores and restaurants in the area because most are having huge sales.
I’ll be posting photos of this year’s event to my Instagram account throughout the weekend, so be sure to follow along either by clicking HERE or over on the righthand sidebar where you can also enlarge the photos by clicking.
Hope to see everyone downtown!
Tulips and beautiful art just in time to celebrate the first day of spring! Have a wonderful weekend, wish I was there!
Wish you were here too!
This sounds like a wonderful chance to gawk and buy art. i bet the people-watching is great too!
Actually, this event is one of the nicer looking festival crowds you’ll find. It’s a fashionable group compared to the crowd that gathers for the Monster Tractor-Beer Can Squashin’ -Burppin’ festival a few miles from here.
Wishing I was there.
There’s always room for another!
What a wonderful springtime event! Such color and life.
Thank you so very much for your kind comments on my blog. Your sweet words are a balm to the soul. Have a wonderful weekend!
Looks like so much fun! It has been raining cats and dogs here in Jackson all day but the Mal’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade went on anyway! Hope you all had better weather…
The weather here was perfect Friday and Saturday, but the rain you had today is on it’s way and may ruin our final day tomorrow. Oh no!
Hope you stayed somewhat dry at your parade!
I was there yesterday! My husband is a huge train collector and we attended the Foley Train Show. I will blog about it this week. We only saw the craft events at the city park. Didn’t realize it was two separate areas. Now I wish we could have explored more. However, we had a lovely time in your neck of the woods! I love downtown Foley!

Well now I feel stupid. I should have had my glasses on when I read your post. We were in Foley, not Fairhope. I can see why I missed the “Fairhope” show!!! The challenges of the visually impaired!!!
That’s okay, we love Foley too and it isn’t far from us at all! Everyone along the coast seems to be having something fun going on this weekend. It’s nice to have great weather in this part of the country, and we have to hurry and enjoy it before the HEAT shows up!
What a wonderful way to spend the day. We also got to hear the Fairhope High School Jazz band. There were a lot of compliments from the crowd. A nice addition to a fun time.
One of my favorite groups at the festival!
