Silverhill, Alabama is a beautiful rural community to the east of Fairhope. These photos were taken a few weeks ago by my son at our friend’s farm.
This is one of the many areas of Baldwin County that is unaffected by city lights.
Such a beautiful place, Silverhill’s motto is, “A Good Place to Live.” They can add, “A Good Place to Star Gaze.”
*My son reported he used “nothing special” to get these photos, just his Cannon 60D with a tripod and a long exposure of around 30 seconds.Â
Beautiful!!!
Spectacular!
Olive beat me to it. I was going to say spectacular as well!
Great photos. We were in northern Michigan this weekend and when you are in the woods and away from the city, the stars are just amazing!
I know a few years ago, some towns were passing laws to limit lights at night. I am all in favor of dimming the public lights. So many people have never seen a full sky of stars. northern Michigan must be a beautiful place!
Breathtaking! I’d say your son has quite an eye!! Have a wonderful week!
Some talent that sweet son of yours has! And I would have to wholeheartedly agree that there is nothing like a “country” night sky! 🙂
WOW! Awesome night sky ~ beautiful shots!
Celestial!
Stunning starry night photos. Your son is an excellent photographer!
When we were in Montana with the “Bg Sky” full of stars my friend introduced me to an app called Starglobe. It is super easy – you hold it up in the air and it identifies the stars and constellations you are looking at. Amazing!
I’ve got to get that! I get alerts when the Space Station is flying over our area and I like to go out and see it. I’ll bet in Montana, the stars would be a fabulous show!
