If you want a little of this, and a little of that, head up to Scott Antique Market in Atlanta sometime. I had a full day of shopping and still didn’t see it all. Scott’s Market also has a location in Columbus, Ohio and both locations make it the largest indoor monthly antique market in America.
This is April who posed for me with her adorable booth. She had a knack for unusual items. I bought some linen tea towels and beautiful hand embroidered pillowcases from her.
The show fills up two huge buildings packed to the rafters with everything vintage, old, antique and creaky. I met my friend Rachel and my brother and a cousin there. It was hard to talk, walk, look, shop and visit together, but it was fun.
The outsides of both buildings are also swimming with giant tents and truckloads full of interesting items, some of them quite large.
The first building I went to had the more expensive, upscale items. Sterling silver, crystal, paintings, fine furniture and jewelry. Fun to look at, but since I’m already swimming in finery (ha), I moved on to the next building.
I love old books since they make me look so smart when I put them in my house. These were all in perfect condition.
Lunch at the Greek food counter was delicious. There were several different options to choose from, but I love Greek food and don’t have any around Fairhope. One of those trade-offs for living in a small town with no crime and lots of flowers.
IÂ I think the silver items are my favorite and I even love to polish it.
This cabinet was interesting. I took a closer look  . . .
And was surprised to see it still held all the metal type pieces! What a collection!
These old telephones were in the more relaxed second building. They were priced at $80 and up. Way up. Waaaaayyy up.
I’ve always wanted to go to Scott’s, so now I can check it off my list, and wouldn’t be surprised if I made my way back again some day. Here’s the schedule for the rest of the year in case you want to go. My recommendations? Â Wear comfortable shoes and bring twice as much money as you think you’ll need!
