Saisho, Mobile Alabama Restaurant, Leslie Anne TarabellaHip and trendy don’t always equal “good” but in the case of Saisho, it’s got everything you’d want in the latest addition to the Mobile restaurant scene. Beautiful decor, charming location, chic furnishings and fabulous food that isn’t like anywhere else.

Saisho, Mobile, AL Leslie Anne Tarabella

Inspired by Japanese cuisine, the popular new Mobile restaurant has opened up the historic building so you are able to sit upstairs and look down on the kitchen as your food is prepared. It’s one of the greatest shows in town!

The menu changes frequently, but my husband and I had a chef’s choice meal which consisted of a little of this and a little of that. All very, very good. This menu was only available when Saisho first opened, and now there is a great menu of small plates made for sharing (or not).

Tiffin boxes, Saisho Mobile Alabama

The food is rushed upstairs in tiffin boxes, still piping hot.

Saisho, Mobile AlabamaThe food is simple, yet deeply flavorful.

Chakli Diggs

I knew Saisho would be a winner because it’s owned by none other than Chakli Diggs, owner of NoJa I previously told you about HERE. Chakli has lived all over the world and brings this influence back to combine with the traditions and flavors of the South.
