I should get a prize for holding out as long as I did. I’ve snuck by the last few years with dinky readers from the bookstore, but finally, when the horizon started to get all wonky when I drove, I knew I was either near death, or I needed real prescription glasses.
I went ahead and endured the ophthalmology maddening game of, “which looks better, 1 or 2, 1 or 2, 1 or 2?” -— How am I supposed to know? It looks great here in the office, but out in your parking lot, I walked into a tree!
I was rather frustrated about how much I had to pay, and was just getting accustomed to the new glasses, when it dawned on me — now I needed new sunglasses too! My entire world was being rocked! I love to work and read outside, and especially with a computer screen, good sunglasses are a must!
That’s when I found the nice people at Discount Glasses.com (discountglasses.com) who heard my cries and came to my aid. After a quick look at their website, I easily found a pair of aviator style sunglasses that caught my attention.
discountglasses.com bases their labs in the United States (USA! USA!), so they are one of the few eyeglass providers who have the capability to ship overnight to most locations. Not only that, but in addition to low prices (starting at $29 for a complete pair of frames), they also offer free shipping in the USA and Canada!
Look how adorable their choice of frames are — brands like Lunettos, Adjective, and even a special line for children called Picklez. Cute!
A sensitive eye kit is one of the many accessories Discount Glasses has for your peepers.
Discountglasses.com helps the little tykes love their glasses by sending stickers of Picklez the puppy to help them feel comfortable about wearing glasses. Isn’t that sweet?
Ordering was simple, and within a few days, my prescription sunglasses were mailed right to me.
My issue with wearing glasses is having to be stuck with only one style — I mean, do we only have one pair of shoes? (ba-hahaha)! Seriously though, by ordering from discoutglasses.com, it’s affordable to be able to shake it up and get an entire wardrobe of cool, hip, sassy, serious and of course . . . highly intellectual looks!
How about a pair of red prescription swim goggles? They’ve got those too! I think I’ll get a pair like this to look speedy in the pool . . . and to keep me from swimming into the wall (Not that it’s happened or anything . . . cough, cough).
Here’s a cute accessory case on their site I can fill with all my new glasses! It’s only $39.95! Can you believe it?
It was so easy to order my sunglasses, and I promise you, they fit even BETTER than the expensive original pair I had personally fitted at the Dr.’s office. So much so, that I’m planning on getting a second pair of regular glasses from discountglasses.com for everyday wear. Then another for every Thursday wear. Then I’ll get Friday, Saturday . . .
The moral of this story is, don’t be stuck with only one look. Spice up your adorable, one-of-a-kind face, and treat yourself to a new pair of glasses. Click HERE to visit the Discountglasses.com to see their cute styles and low prices for yourself!

On St. Patrick’s Day, Page and Palette Bookstore presented a lunchtime lecture with Jan-Philipp Sendker, bestselling author of “The Art of Hearing Heartbeats.” As Sendker addressed the large crowd at the Fairhope Public Library, he told of his time spent in Burma. Stars Fell  on Mobile Bay I hope you can see the twinkling stars in this beautiful photograph. Fairhope High School Seniors are out of school earlier than the other students, so the first night my son didn’t have to study for final exams or wake up early for classes, he grabbed his camera and headed […]
The clover and round hay bales were so pretty on the side of Highway 59, which runs south through Baldwin County and leads down to the Gulf. But the camera battery died, so IÂ resorted to my iphone for these photos. My farmer friend told me these hay bales sell for around $50 each. Â I […]
One more week until Graduation Day for my senior! We’ve already had a school wide awards ceremony, senior breakfast at church and Baccalaureate. This week is a year end band concert, another night will be an awards ceremony. The senior picnic is tomorrow down on Mobile Bay, and another senior breakfast preceding cap and gown […]
For years, I’ve heard wonderful things about The Paris Market and Brocante in Savannah, Georgia, but just recently got to shop there myself. It was everything I had heard. Part mercantile, part museum, and all packed full of design inspiration. Â The two story building holds home decor, kitchen essentials, perfumes, books, soaps, candles, etcetera, etcetera, […]
I don’t know if it’s because I have two boys of my own or what, but this video made me cry-laugh. I guess that would be “craugh.” Katie at Preppy Empty Nester had this on her blog yesterday, and I made sure I asked permission before I blatantly copied her idea. Katie was so sweet and […]
First published in the Lady’s Home Journal in the late 1950’s, “Babette’s Feast” was written by Karen Blixen, also of “Out of Africa” fame, and was eventually made into a book. A Danish film adaptation was released in 1987 with English subtitles, which causes me to feel very artsy every time I view this […]
The 2014 Senior class of Fairhope High School has been awarded $15 MILLION DOLLARS worth of scholarships! That is an all time new school record. And I must be a proud Mom for a moment and say that my son added a bit to that total. (Thank goodness!) As a reward for their Senior awards, […]
Graduation will be here in a few weeks, and the guests are on their way. Teenagers have a way of filling up a space, and with the beautiful weather we have this time of year along the Gulf Coast, I’m thinking of keeping the festivities outdoors. This is a wonderful idea for a cheese, fruit […]
“Sweet” doesn’t begin to describe the fragrance. This time of year, honeysuckle will outdo your Grandmother for the heavy-handed perfume award. Honeysuckle is a mainstay along our springtime rural roadsides. Kudzu beats out honeysuckle as only a slightly better climber, but loses in the fragrance category every time. Fields […]
