janHomePage2What dream is in your heart, and more importantly, how did it get there?

Dream

Did you know Jan Karon didn’t even start writing her Mitford books until she was 50 years old? Did you know she started the storyline as a small column in her local newspaper? Hmmm . . .

darkenPage and Palette is bringing the popular author of The Mitford Series to Fairhope, Tuesday, September 22nd, where she will speak about her books and interact with the audience during a question and answer session. The event will be held at The Fairhope United Methodist Church, on the corner of Section St. and Morphy Ave.

LeafKaron’s books are full of inspiring, funny and meaningful stories. If you are usually comfortable sitting on the couch watching TV, this is one night to get up and get out of the house! Do something fun and different! Enjoy life! Don’t let good things pass you by!

A $30 ticket gets you in the door and also gets you a signed copy of her new book, which is being released tomorrow! (I somehow managed to score an advanced copy and it is SO VERY GOOD!) The $30 ticket price helps benefit The Shepherd’s Place Foundation, which is a wonderful cause, and the book would make a wonderful Christmas gift for someone.

So, hop in your car and get yourself over to Fairhope for an interesting, fun and meaningful night with a truly gifted writer. You’ll be so glad to have heard this talented and inspiring woman.

  1. Love her books. Sounds like a fun evening and Shepherds Place is such a gift to the community. Glad to have a part in supporting it.

    1. We’ve had several great authors in town lately. I’ve been able to meet several of them but I’m most excited about meeting Jan Karon!

  2. What a neat event! It’s always fascinating to meet our favorite authors! And how inspiring that Karon didn’t write her first book until she was 50! There’s still hope, and a few years, for me to decide my destiny in life! 🙂 ~Rhonda
