Color of The Year

Coastal Living Magazine is a favorite along the Gulf Coast, and Fairhope has been featured several times in different stories about our beautiful area. I’m always excited to see what new coastal styles and travel tips the stylish magazine recommends.

And now I can stop staying up nights worrying and wondering. The final votes have been cast, and Coastal Living has announced the official, “Color of the Year.”

Drum roll please . . .

Sea Glass!!!!
I know, I know!  Can you contain your excitement?
Call your neighbor and fry some chicken, there’s going to be a shin-dig!
It’s peaceful, playful and oh so pretty. Tropical, tony and tasteful too.

I’m digging through my vast stash of Crayolas to come up with a perfect match. Is Sea Glass a good color for nail polish too?  Actually, my pup would look cute in a Sea Glass colored collar. Now I can’t stop thinking about it!

What do you think?
Does the seal of the City of Fairhope qualify as “sea glass” blue?

I was secretly hoping teal would be the winner. Bummer. Now I’ll have to change all my plans.

  1. Beautiful color! Surely your pup needs a new stylish collar and it would be a great color for summer nail polish! I’m still on the fence about pantone’s color of the year, even though emerald is my birthstone! 🙂
Thanks sooo much for sharing at Amaze Me Monday!!!

  2. Sea Glass one of my absolute favorites color – the first one to run out when I am painting. Thank heavens that they did not choose that awful emerald green like Pantone. I noticed that Sherwin Williams chose a softer green, too.

  3. I love it, just reading the name Sea Glass takes me straight to summertime at the beach. Beautiful chairs in your top photograph, especially paired with the wood table.

  4. Sea glass gets my vote! It is my new favorite color and has eased it’s way into my tradition Birmingham Al home as well as all over our Orange Beach getaway house! We love Fairhope, the best little town in the South and art center to the world!

  5. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! I’ve been crushing on the many shades of turquoise for months now. I love the freshness of this color which looks beautiful with so many accent colors. It’s perfect!

  6. Isn’t sea glass just a faded version of teal? I’m thinking you could leave your cushions in the garden for a couple of weeks and before the summer is over y’all will be trending with the rest of the coastal folks.
