If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you know I've been traveling. Bob and I ended up in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry. It was something we've always wanted to do, and when we purchased tickets, had no idea they had limited the audience size to 25% capacity and it was the first time in over 2 years they had allowed a live audience at the Ryman. I teased my hair big, and popped on the boots and was ready to go! We heard Vince Gill, Jimmie Allen, Suzy Bogguss, Mandy Barnett, Don Schlitz (The man who wrote the Gambler had us sing along - how cool was that!), and Jeannie Seely. It was so much fun, I want to go back again.
On the other end of Tennessee, we stayed at The Peabody Hotel in Memphis which was beautiful and full of charming people, all admiring the darling ducks in the lobby. They were a new crew of ducks just being trained, and were being uncooperative in their march to the elevator. I was also thrilled to run into ELVIS while I was there.
On the way home, we stopped in Birmingham to wish our son Harrison a happy birthday. This young man fills our hearts with joy and we are so proud of him every day.
And speaking of the Birmingham area, if you are in Homewood, stop into Alabama Goods - one of my favorite stores to find both of my books! They are now carrying The Majorettes are Back in Town as well as Exploding Hushpuppies!
And last but certainly not least, here I am with the great Patti Callahan as she launched her latest book, "Saving Savannah." I can't put it down!
