Grab a copy!
If you’re a local reader, be sure to run out and pick up a copy of this week’s Lagniappe Newspaper which features my story, “Barbie’s Back to Battle Hoodies.” Lagniappe is one of Alabama’s largest weekly newspapers and is read by all of the area’s “movers, shakers and trouble makers.”
You can find an iconic Lagniappe purple paper box in these locations.
I’ll post a copy of the full story here next week, but you’ll definitely want to get the jump and read it while it’s hot off the press. (Literally – 105-degree heat wave!). Added bonus, you can fan yourself with real copies of the story. Lagniappe also has online subscription options you can read about HERE.
The angle to my story is, “Have people slouched around so much in sloppy T-shirts, baggy shorts, and hoodies that little girls who want to be feminine only have Barbie to turn to as a role model?” – Is that why the 64 year old doll is STILL so popular? Hmmm. Food for thought, and that’s what newspaper stories are meant to do. Entertain, distract and make people think and consider other sides of issues. Both serious and fun, like Barbie.
Be on the look-out for the Lagniappe boxes around South Alabama to grab a paper, and stay tuned for the full story here next week.

Will you be seeing the Barbie Movie this week? What other summer films have you seen? Stay cool, and thanks for reading!
Can’t wait to get my hands on this story! I still have my Barbies (which are now considered vintage)!
Thanks Karyn!
I only had a few Barbie dolls – I loved her “stuff” more than the doll. The airplane was my favorite
I look forward to reading your story. I never had a Barbie doll growing up, but my granddaughters have so many! Stay cool in the oppressive heat.
Thanks Pam – you weren’t missing much! Fun clothes and accessories – that was my favorite!
The Barbie movie is causing a lot of controversy, I can’t wait to read the article!
Don’t worry – the story isn’t anything like the movie – a totally different topic, yet all about BARBIE!
