What’s New

Hulk Hogan caused quite a stir when he came to the Fairhope Piggly Wiggly today.

That’s such a funny sentence, I think I’ll just let it hang there.

And tomorrow? (Thursday Nov. 7th) I’ll be at The Pig. Hulk Hogan is a hard act to follow, but I’ll be with lots of others at the best party in town – Taste of L.A. – Lower Alabama. It’s small town excitement and I’ll be there signing copies of We Don’t Push in Fairhope.

I didn’t get to meet the Hulk. I was dropping off books for tomorrow’s festivities and saw his Rolls Royce in the parking lot and the huge crowd inside.

Isn’t this a nice comment? Did you try to distract yourself from politics? Not me. I love watching all the details and notice their speeches, wardrobe and music choices. It’s all fascinating.

If you’ve had time to read We Don’t Push in Fairhope, I’d love to have you leave a comment on Amazon or Goodreads – thank you!

The rankings for Amazon bounce around, but this version of the list was pretty awesome.  The Audible, Kindle and Hardcover versions of We Don’t Push in Fairhope claimed three spots in the top 10 list for South East US Travel Books. 3 out of 10!!! How many electorial votes does that win?

It’s not a traditional travel book but shows up in that category since it’s about a specific area.  Like politics, the details of book sale algorithms are fascinating. I think I understand politics better.

You can find We Don’t Push in Fairhope here on my website by clicking at the top of the page on “Store” or on Amazon . You may also find it in Barnes and Noble, and local Fairhope Stores like Page and Palette Bookstore, 4 Bags Boutique, Fish River Mercantile and The Grand Hotel Golf Resort and Spa..

Originally propagated here in my home of Baldwin County, my “Leslie Anne” camellias are blooming, and I have a new column in Lagniappe News about pruning my roses. Sometimes we feel like we’re being pruned and it’s no fun, but it often leads to something far more beautiful.  I’ll be able to share the story with you next week.

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you saw my Patriotic Pumpkin Pie. Made in grandmother’s skillet, it was a sweet start to the holiday season.

I mentioned I’ll be signing books tomorrow night, November 7th at the Piggly Wiggly in Fairhope and after that, you can find me at these locations, plus a few more that will be added later.

Yesterday with my ballot in my hand the Gent at the box told me to push, push, push the ballot into the machine, Ibdid as Ivwas told! I waited beside the Gent for my Hubs ad he had to park in Oklahoma! After listening over and over folks being told to push the ballot into the machine, guess what I just finally HAD to say? But, we don’t push in Fairhope! The lady at the machine let out “ that’s a good one” I would like to believe she has your book! Just sayin! Arlene C
