Opening day of Providence Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Flowers was a gorgeous, jaw dropping event. The gargantuan tents held massive displays of both familiar and new varieties of floral and garden delights.
The theme “British Gardens of Time” provided ample opportunities to create fantasy interpretations of old English vignettes like, “Breakfast at Wimbledon,” “After the Fox Hunt,” and “Tea with the Queen.”
The irony that always grabs me is the romance and softness of the Festival of Flowers is held on the grounds of Providence Hospital, which is famous for its austere modernistic design. George Jetson comes to Providence Hospital when Astro the dog pulls him down on the treadmill. Ouch!
The 2014 Providence Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Flowers continues throughout the weekend.
I’m now inspired to go work in my own yard this weekend. After I have a spot of tea and crumpets.
