As I previously explained, along the Gulf Coast, our weather this time of year is still quite warm, so we need visual reminders that yes indeed . . . it really is autumn! Hanging one of these beauties on my door will let me know that even though it’s still 84° outside, turkey and dressing are right around the corner.
Better Homes and Gardens has been a standard in home decoration for decades. Their ideas are always fresh looking yet at the same time, very traditional.
A little corny, but I still love it.
Their recent photo display of autumn wreaths was so beautiful, I thought I would share it with you.
Very light and festive.
This wreath features kumquats and pinecones, two things we can go outside and find in our backyards here in Fairhope. My kumquats won’t be ready for a few more weeks.
Magnolia leaves are another thing we have plenty of around here. Just yesterday, I drove past a huge pile of beautiful magnolia branches someone had thrown to the curb after pruning their tree. I was tempted to stop and take a few, but had to hurry home to bake bread from scratch, Â finish a quilt, and paint the parlor.
BH&G features 25 wreaths in their story. You can see all their designs by clicking here.
Happy Fall, y’all.
